NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION OF REGULAR BAPTIST CHURCHES

"RESOLUTION ON THE REAFFIRMATION OF BIBLICAL CREATION"

Whereas, the validity of evolutionary Darwinism and its modified theories continue to be accepted as credible
and viable scientific models in educational institutions at all levels as well as in public media of all types; and

Whereas this model is readily accepted by both religious and secular organizations which have placed their
faith in man's biased interpretation of scientific data over the historic Biblical record; and, this model has
infiltrated American churches in the form of theistic evolution- a theory in which God started or guided the
process of evolution over millions or billions of years; and

Whereas the legitimacy of the evolutionary model is called in question based on its contradictions with current
scientific "laws of nature" set in order by God (Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:3), for example the origin of the
suggested first particle from which the entire universe supposedly began simply appears to exist out of
nothing. Science describes this as impossible according to the First Law of Thermodynamics which states
energy (inclusive of matter) cannot be created nor destroyed. Further,

Whereas the logical applications of evolution devastate the value and the meaning of mankind's existence and
any moral obligations connected with life. It teaches that all humans are merely more evolved living things,
and essentially equal in value to animals and insects. It also teaches that life has meaning or purpose only as
each individual sees fit for themselves and which cannot be legitimately forced onto any other individual.
Furthermore, any moral standards that one may hold are only self-created and cannot be legitimately
imposed upon any other person. These conclusions then result in a self-preservation, self-glory, and self-
pleasure society without requirement or regard to the benefit or detriment of other people. Therefore, order
and society cannot be based on any absolute moral standard. The consequence of such thinking legitimizes
immoral actions since nothing in nature can refute it. It is only by the restraining grace of God that our world is
not as evil as it could be since it lives under this lawless system (2 Thessalonians 2:7); and

Whereas the Scriptures make clear that the infinite and eternal God created the entire universe and
everything therein in six literal 24-hour days (Genesis 1-2; John 1:3, Exodus 20:11); and that the Biblical account is
consistent with the observable scientific data available today as well as consistent with the immaterial aspect
of mankind, including his mental, emotional, and volitional abilities as well as his moral conscience (Genesis 1:26;
Romans 2:14-16).

It is therefore affirmed that the messengers of the Nebraska Association of Regular Baptist Churches meeting
for its Spring Conference at Gretna Baptist Church, Gretna, Nebraska, on this 12th day of April, 2014, hold firm
to their faith in the literal Scripture record of creation of everything seen and unseen (Colossians 1:16), and that
the physical universe is not a product of degenerating and uncontrolled mutations over a period of billions of
years.

Be it resolved that the independent churches of this association and the association itself will instruct and
promote the Biblical creation account as well as its conclusions and implications which include the superior
value and equality of all mankind at all stages in life over the rest of creation (Psalm 8; Luke 12:6-7), the
accountability of every soul before their Creator (Matthew 12:36; Romans 2:5-6; Hebrews 9:27), the need for a Savior
(Acts 3:19; 4:12), and the destiny of every person in either eternal condemnation in hell or eternal glory in
heaven (Revelation 20:11-21:4).
